The Quadruple Test, also known as the Quadruple Marker or Second Trimester Maternal Serum Screen 4, is a screening performed during the second trimester of pregnancy. This test helps assess the risk of chromosomal abnormalities and ectodermal defects (such as neural tube defects) in the baby. It categorizes the patient as either high-risk or low-risk based on the levels of specific markers in the mother’s blood.
