The Hepatitis A Virus (HAV) IgM Antibody Test measures the presence of IgM antibodies in the blood, which are produced by the immune system in response to a Hepatitis A virus (HAV) infection. HAV is a small, 27 nm RNA virus primarily transmitted through the fecal-oral route, often associated with unsanitary conditions, close personal contact, or contaminated food and water.
