The Aldolase test measures the level of the enzyme aldolase in the blood. Aldolase is an enzyme involved in the breakdown of glucose (sugar) to produce energy. It’s present in various tissues throughout the body, especially in muscles (including skeletal and cardiac muscle), liver, and red blood cells. Elevated levels of aldolase in the blood can indicate tissue damage or disease involving these organs.
